Book Dr. B To Speak and Teach
Dr. B promotes the Three Es – Enhancing Competence, Expanding Self-Care, and Engaging in Community Care – to support career sustainability for healing professionals. Working in healing professions requires perseverance, patience, a unique set of skills, and a deep well of hope. Sustainability is constantly being challenged by the nature of the work itself, the demands of managed care systems, the residual toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the weight of systemic injustices.
In her trainings and workshops, Dr. B strives to improve sustainability through enhancing clinician confidence and wellness. She particularly focuses on working with clinical presentations historically deemed “difficult to treat.” Her clinical orientation is influenced by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As such, she operates from a framework of validation and change. She believes compassionately making sense of one’s experience is essential for pursuing long-lasting change. Dr. B extends such compassion to clinicians themselves. She recognizes that self-and community-care are imperative as we are not meant to do this work alone.

About Dr. B
Katie Brazaitis, Phd (Dr.B, she/her) is an East Coast transplant, growing up in Maryland and earning her BA from New York University in New York City and her MA/PhD at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She moved to Tucson for her predoctoral Clinical Internship at the Southern Arizona VA HealthCare System, where she was later hired and worked in both mental health inpatient and outpatient clinics. There she honed her skills and talent for both individual psychotherapy and teaching.
In 2021 she started a private practice where she specializes in the treatment of personality disorders, suicidal ideations and related behaviors, and traumas across the lifespan. Her approach to therapy, while ultimately integrative, is rooted in the principles and interventions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
